RUPTURE Persephone is a physical theatre solo work that addresses themes such as the separation and division of existence, the pain of personal or forced exile, societal oppression, and restrictions. It symbolizes movement between two worlds—between Heaven and Earth, between the living and the dead—a shift between light and darkness. Where is the bond between reminiscence and the unforeseen, unsettled future? Perhaps it is a place that lies between the “underworld” and what we perceive as the “real world.” An agonizing, asphyxiating cry in a toxic land reveals a labyrinth of choices within the landscape of a human being.
